YABATECH 2017/2018 1st batch Admission List Released

The Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) wishes to inform all Post-UTME applicants of the College that the UTME Admission list for the 2017/2018 academic session is now available online.


All the candidates that participated in the YABATECH 2017/2018 Post UTME screening exercise can now check their admission status by following the steps outlined below.


 Candidates are to visit the YABATECH admission status checking portal via http://www.yabatech.edu.ng/appresults/admissionChecker.cshtml
 Enter your JAMB registration Number in the required column.
 Finally click on Submit to access your admission status.

YABATECH; Six Final Year Students Expel Over Fake Results

Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH expelled 6 students for presenting fake or doctored National Diploma (ND) and National Certificate of Education (NCE) results for admission.

Management of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has explained why it expelled 6 final year students. They were sent home presenting fake or altered National Diploma (ND) and National Certificate of Education (NCE) results for admission, the authorities said.
The expulsion notice is contained in a circular signed by Mrs Taiwo Obadimu, the Deputy Registrar of the college, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.
According to the circular, the authorities of the institution considered the report on verification of the affected students’ results and found them culpable. “Their expulsion was approved, having found the students guilty for presenting fake/altered ND/NCE results, as their conduct violated the college’s rules and regulations.
“The students are advised to hand over all college property, including student identity cards in their possession, to the heads of their department, the Polytechnic Librarian and the Dean of Students’ Affairs, with immediate effect,’’ the circular stated.
NAN reports that the affected students were in the departments of Food Technology, Mathematics and Integrated Science, Physics Education, Estate Management and Valuation, Industrial Technical Education and Industrial Maintenance Engineering.

The Academic Board rose from its sitting last night with a firm decision that academic activities be suspended for four weeks to allow Management, staff and students mourn Miss Charity Dazan.
The Board has ruled that students should vacate halls of residence latest 12 noon today, Thursday February 11, 2016
Meanwhile, the Rector, Management and Staff of Yabatech sympathize with the family of the deceased and with the student body over the unfortunate incident praying God to prevent a recurrence
Management will attend to other issues and requests by students in due course.

Students already undergoing screening and other registration process as well as those yet to commence the process are hereby encouraged to continue and prepare for full resumption on February 29, 2016.

Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu yesterday inaugurated ad hoc committees to investigate petitions on 10 tertiary institutions.

Inaugurating the 10 ad hoc committees in Abuja, Adamu said the move was in response to allegations of abuse of due process, mismanagement, immorality, fraud and corruption, among others.
The institutions are Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Kastina State; Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State; University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom, and Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State.
Others are University of Abuja, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, University of Calabar; Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State; Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State and Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State.
The minister said panels were set up in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting due process, fairness, accountability and transparency in the control and management of public resources.
Adamu said allegations and counter-claims made against governing councils and managements of the institutions had created mistrust and hostility and hindered the smooth conduct of academic activities.
The terms of reference of the panels are “to carefully study and investigate allegations in the petitions on the institutions or individuals.
“To seek to determine the veracity of claims and counter-claims by considering the circumstances and talking to as many witnesses as possible.
“To meet and interview the writers of the petitions and establish the basis of their claims.
“To ensure fair hearing by meeting with, and listening to explanations from all those against whom petitions have been written.”
Adamu told the committees that the exercise was not meant to judge or witch-hunt anybody, adding that members were selected based on their track records of integrity.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, urged members to be courageous in carrying out their findings and making their recommendations.
Responding on behalf of the chairmen and members of the ad hoc committees, Malam Salihu Abubukar thanked the ministry for the confidence reposed in them.
He said their assignments was a heavy responsibility, which must be carried out with a sense of duty.

YABATECH Post UTME Registration Procedures – 2015/2016

The management of the Yaba College of Technology invites suitably qualified candidates to her 2015/2016 academic session post UTME screening exercise scheduled for hold from 7th to 14th SEPTEMBER 2015. Please note that the screening will be Computer Based Test (CBT).
The screening is open to those candidates who chose Yaba College of Technology and have scored 150 and above for National Diploma (ND) Full Time in the 2015/2016 UTME.
YABATECH post UTME screening exercise application commenced online from 3rd August 2015 and close on the 6th September 2015..

How to Apply for YABATECH Post UTME.

All candidates should visit the College website www.yabatech.edu.ng and click on “Post UTME Application 2014” and complete the application process appropriately.
Applicants are to pay One thousand, five hundred Naira (N1,500.00) for the Post UTME Test and Result checking & One thousand (N1,000.00) for Past Questions, using their ATM card (MasterCard, Visa, Verve) by clicking on Pay Now.
Kindly complete the application form by supplying your current phone number. An email address will be created for you where you will receive your PAST QUESTIONS, EXAM SCHEDULE and your POST UTME RESULT.

Kindly note that the application process can also be done on mobile devices (Smart Phones, IPAD, TABLETS and other Internet enabled devices).
Applicants without an ATM Card should approach any bank for a reloadable card and load the required amount to enable them pay on-line.
Candidates are advised to supply correct data on the Portal as they will be responsible for any personal errors made during registration. Details of the Post UTME Screening are available on the Portal.

Candidates having difficulty in payment for registration should go to the CITM (PTDF) building behind the School of Art, Design and Printing for assistance.

YABATECH ID Card Registration Details for Fresh Students – 2014/15

Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH  ID card registration details for the newly admitted full-time students (ND1 and HND1) for the 2014/2015 academic session.

Authorities of the Yaba College of Technology (YABTECH), Lagos, have released a circular to inform all the newly admitted full-time students (i.e. ND 1 and HND 1) that the capturing of image for production of students Identity Cards for 2014/2015 Academic session will commence from Monday 8th June, 2015 to 10th July, 2015.

All ND 1 and HND 1 registered Full Time students are advised to take full advantage of the scheduled date to appear for image capturing. All students are to note that they are required to wear the Student’s Identity Card within the College and any student without Identity Card will not be allowed into the Examination Hall.

Part Time students that are yet to be captured are also advised to appear for image capturing. Student that requested for replacement of identity card are also advised to appear within the scheduled date.
