ELIGIBILITY

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE 
  • Candidate must have a minimum qualification of 5 distinctions (A's and B's) in their SSCE result.
  • Your SSCE certificate must not be more than two years old
  • Age limit is 18 to 20 years
POST GRADUATE DEGREE
  • All applicants must hold a first degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division
  • Age limit is 35 years for a master's degree program and 40 years of age for a PhD program.
  • Evidence of readiness to be released by employer
  • All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. or have an N.Y.S.C discharge certificate.
  • Applicants who are previous recipients of foreign award must have completed at least two years post qualification of employment in Nigeria.
Candidates are to note that they will be required to spend an additional year to learn the official language of the country of their choice, since the BEA countries are not English speaking countries.

Overview Of The Scholarship

Scholarships are only available to master’s and PhD.-level students. However, bachelor's degree students wishing to study Danish language and literature can also apply if they have studied the Danish language for two years.
Please note that scholarships are only offered to students enrolled in full-degree studies at higher education institutions in the countries listed above.
PhD students must be employed at, or affiliated with, higher education institutions in the above-mentioned countries before they can be considered for the scholarship.


Nature of The Scholarship

The Scholarship is awarded by the Danish Government and covers 30-50% of the student's tuition fee. The student when given the scholarship is then expected to pay the remaining 50-70% of the tuition fee.
Candidates who have been awarded a scholarship from UCN can under certain condition be offered an additional partial monthly living cost scholarship.

The scholarship may be awarded for the entire duration of the study program for single semesters.

The scholarship is awarded by the University College of Northern Denmark, Danish Government



Countries Eligible For The Scholarship Program

The countries listed below are eligible for the scholarship program. Long-term scholarships of 5-12 months are offered to exchange students from higher education institutions in the following countries:
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Egypt
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Russia


Eligibility
  • Candidate must be a citizen of a non-European country or a non-European Trade country.
  • The scholarship is strictly for masters and PhD (post graduate degree).
  • Candidates who have permanent residence in the European Union or European Economic Area Country are not eligible for the scholarship program
  • Candidate who is presently studying in Denmark 
  • Only candidates who graduated with good grades are eligible
  • Candidate must have passed an English test (preferable, the IELTS Test)

During the course of the scholarship application, the candidate is expected to write a motivational letter, stating their reason for applying for the UCN scholarship program and the specific program in question
The candidate will then have to apply to one of the English-taught study programs which UCN offers.

It aims at supporting 120 talented Africans through their studies and to give the next generation leaders a world-class social science education so that they can in turn empower more people in their individual countries.

Eligibility

Undergraduate:


  • Applicant must be a citizen of a Sub-Sahara African country

Candidates must apply online on the dedicated website. There are two steps to the application:
  • First, candidates provide personal information and a letter of recommendation from the Sciences Po partner institution which is supporting their application through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
  • After this first step to assess eligibility, applicants receive an email inviting them to complete the rest of the application: information on their financial situation, their educational background and extra-curricular experiences, and their plans for the future.

In year 2 and year 3, the successful candidate will also receive an annual stipend of £5,000. We also cover visa cost, provided receipts are submitted to the Centre of African Studies office. We expect students to be on fieldwork during the second year, and to write the thesis in the third year in their country of origin.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) offers Masters and PhD Scholarships for Nigerian students from the Niger Delta to study abroad.

Eligible Field of Study: The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with elevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree(s) from recognized universities in the following professional disciplines:

    6.      Law
    7.      Management Sciences

About Scholarship: As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is commencing the 2016 Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarship Programme, to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Local Content programme of the Federal Government, as well as compete globally in various professional fields.

Eligibility Criteria
  1. First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those  wishing to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.
  2. Gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a recognized foreign University Abroad.
  3. Applicants who have already enrolled in overseas’ universities are NOT eligible to apply
  4. Guarantor’s written consent of good conduct of the applicant from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
  • Member of National Assembly
  • Chairman of the LGA.
  • First class traditional ruler.
  • High Court Judge
  1. Persons with  evidence  of  cult  membership  or  criminal   record  shall  not be  considered  for  the
  2. Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).
  3. Applicants must have a valid Admission Letter from a Foreign University

Eligibility: 

For MSc:
  • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience
  • National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate.
  • Applicants must be computer literate.
  • Possession of O/level with Credit in English Language; At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO.
  • Applicants must not be above 30 years of age.
For PhD:
  • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience;
  • National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate;
  • Applicants must be computer literate;
  • Possession of O/level with Credit in English Language; (At least C6 in WAEC/SSCE or C4 and above in NECO); and
  • Employment in the academics in reputable Nigerian Institution, teaching oil and gas related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 2.2 in their first degree and a minimum of merit as a second degree certificate in an oil and gas related discipline;
  • Submit a research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology relevance to the industry and mode of data collection;
  • Possess a valid admission letter; and
  • Must not be over 40 years of age
