UNILORIN Fresh Students 2017/2018 Hostel Allocation Process

This is to inform all fresh students of the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN that they can now log on to the University Portal to begin the Hostel Allocation Process for the 2017/2018 academic session.

Fresh students are hereby notified that the allocation of the University owned hostels will be online. The available bed spaces will be uploaded on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 12.00 noon.

Hence, all fresh students are expected to cast lots for bed spaces at the above stipulated date and time.

Students are advised to proceed with the payment of University charges to enable them have access to the University owned hostels accommodation on their portals.

Students are enjoined to note that bed spaces are not transferable or sell-able.

According to a statement by the University’s director of information Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu , the list which was released on Wednesday comprised of pre science, direct entry and other candidates.

TRANCHE OF ADMISSION 
The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has, in keeping with its earlier promise released the second tranche of admission.

The admission list comprises Pre Science, Direct Entry and other candidates. 
Candidates are advised to check immediately on the UNIZIK portal (portal.unizik.edu.ng).

Meanwhile, academic activities in the University commenced today, 3rd January 2018 after the Christmas break. Staff and students are to take note.

See Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK post UTME screening exercise application form for the 2017/2018 academic session is out. UNIZIK post UTME minimum cut-off mark is 180. Registration will start on Tuesday, 5th September, 2017 and end on Friday 15th September, 2017.
Latest Update: This is to announce that the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has shifted the date for the post utme.
Registration is expected to continue beyond the closing.
New date for the screening test will be communicated later.
The registration continues beyond 15th of September, 2017 which was the initial deadline.
Candidates who have not registered still have opportunity to do so pending when the new deadline is announced.

a. Registration will start on Tuesday, 5th September, 2017 and end on Friday 15th September, 2017.

– Click on ‘ Create Account’
– Enter your UTME REG Number and a valid email address and click ‘Send’. A verification code will be sent to your email instantly.
– Copy the verification code and click on ‘Continue’
– On the form, enter your phone number, password, verification code (copied from email), select the access level and click on ‘ Submit’
– Your login details will be sent to your email address instantly.
– Continue with the application by logging in with the login credentials sent to your email
– After successful login, click on ‘Step One’, click on ‘Generate Application Form RRR’
– Print the RRR (Remita) page, proceed to any bank of your choice nationwide to make a payment of N2,000 only
– Login to the portal, click on ‘Step Two’, click on ‘Confirm payment’, enter the RRR number and click on ‘Verify payment’. If payment confirmation is successful, or if you get a notification ‘Payment already verified’, then proceed to “Step Three”.
– Click on ‘Step Three’, click on ‘Fill Application Form’, Fill out the application form. You can
save each stage of the application and continue at a later time. Also, you can edit your information as often as possible within the application period.
– Check the ‘I Agree’ box and click on “submit” button.
– Print out the Application Form and come along with it for your screening and POST UTME examination.

a. Accreditation of candidates commences at 8.00am each day. Candidates should adhere strictly to the time scheduled for screening examination.
b. Print out the Application Form from the University Portal and come along with it for your screening and POST UTME evaluation
c. The date and time for each candidate’s examination will be shown on the POST UTME PRINT-OUT
RESTRICTIONS
a. Only bona fide candidates/candidates scheduled for the day’s examination and time shall be allowed into the University / Examination Hall.
b. Parents and guardians are, therefore, strongly advised against attempting to enter the University Campus as security will be tight.
c. No GSM handsets, scientific calculators or any other extraneous materials shall be allowed into the examination hall
d. Candidates who did not register online will not be allowed for the screening exercise.
e. The University will not be liable for any payment made with wrong JAMB registration number at the Bank.
f. The University shall also not be liable for any fraudulent payments made anywhere that is not in line with the directives of the University.

It's a moment of sorrow for the family of this pretty Nigerian girl identified as Jennifer Omalicha, a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK)who died recently following after a fatal car accident. Her close friend who mourned her untimely demise wrote;

UNIZIK POSTGRADUATE – ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
The following may apply for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programmes:
  • Graduates from approved Universities who hold first degree classification with FCGPA of 2.39 and above on a 5point scale.
  • Candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics who hold a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit.
MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES
The following may apply for admission into Masters Programmes:
  1. Graduates from approved Universities who hold the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.00 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for Universities that do not use FCGPA.
  2. Holders of Postgraduate Diploma from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.50 and above (on a 5 point scale).
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES
Graduates from approved universities who hold Masters degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use the FCGPA
     MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for any Postgraduate programme must possess a minimum of 5 credits including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings from WAEC, NECO,NABTEB or TCII(Faculty of Education only) based on the Departmental/Faculty and General University Requirements.

DURATION OF UNIZIK POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES.

Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD)
Full-Time Postgraduate Diploma programme lasts for a minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of three (3) semesters. Part- Time programme shall last for a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of Six (6) semesters
Note: For the Faculty of Engineering Professional PGD: Full-Time lasts for a minimum of 4 Semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters. Part-Time shall last for a minimum of 6 Semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters
Masters Degree Programmes
Full-Time Masters Degree programmes lasts for a minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters. Part-time programme shall last for a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of Eight (8) semesters.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme
Full-Time Ph.D. programmes lasts for a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters. Part-Time programme shall last for a minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of fourteen (14) semesters

UNIZIK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION – METHOD OF APPLICATION.

Application form should be completed on-line by login onto my.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate/
  • Click on “Start New Program” to open the Application Form
  •  Fill the form and click on “Create Account”
  • Click on “Process Payment”. This generates your RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference)Number
  • Print the RRR Number and take it to any bank of your choice for payment of Application Fee (N10,000)
  • Wait for 24 hours before logging on to my.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate to access the Application form.
Fill and submit online the completed Application from, scanning and attaching the claimed certificates, including O’ level certificates, evidence of change of name, birth certificate, teller and confirmation order from the bank of purchase.
Print the completed Application Form for your personal use. You will require this document in the course of the admission and registration.
Download and print a copy of the Transcript Request Form. The Transcript Request Form should be sent to your former institution for your academic transcripts. Any change of name should be indicated on the transcript form.
Applicants should include the names and e-mail addresses of three Referees. At least two of the referees must be Academics not lower than rank of a Senior Lecturer.
Ph.D. applicants are expected to submit online a proposal of not more than five type written pages that should include:
a. Topic (not more than 18 words)
b. Brief background of the Study
c. Aims and Objectives/Purpose
d. Methodology
e. Expected Outcomes
f. References

Submission of Form Ends on 2nd October, 2016
Transcripts should be forwarded to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies not later than 25thSeptember, 2016
Qualified Applicants will be invited for Screening Test and Proposal Defence (PhD only) from 17th – 21st October, 2016. The schedule will be communicated in due course.
Applicants should assist in this process to enhance their chances of making admission in October, 2015.
