The
University of Ilorin, popularly referred to as Unilirin is a Federal Government university located in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State in Nigeria. It was established by the decree of the Military Goverment in August, 1975. its establishment was aimed to implement the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan.

From three faculties in 1976, today there are fifteen faculties: 

Arts (1976), Education (1976), Engineering & Technology (1978), Agriculture (1982), Law (1993, after an initial start-up in 1983), Basic Medical Sciences (2004), Clinical Sciences (2004) Communication and Information Sciences (2008), Veterinary Medicine (2009), Pharmaceutical Science (2010), and Life Science; Physical Science; Environmental Science; Management Sciences; and Social Sciences in (2013).

HOW TO APPLY FOR UNILORIN 2020/2021 POST UTME/DIRECT ENTRY FORM

All candidates who scored between 180 to 260 (depending on the desired course) in Jamb but yet to register for their Post UTME are advised to do so as soon as they can as the registration closes on the 31st of October, 2020.
For those finding it difficult to figure their way out (completing the registration), below is a guide on how you can go about it.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE POST UTME FORM

  • All candidates are required to upload their ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level results where applicable on the JAMB CAPS. Candidates who are awaiting results should so indicate by inputting AR
  • Any candidate who wishes to apply for a change of course should ensure that the change is effected on JAMB PORTAL.
  • Ensure that your email address is valid before starting the registration.
  • UTME Candidates who are qualified for the courses originally chosen can proceed to make payment by supplying the required information. However, they are advised to change based on the options displayed;
  • Registration fee for each candidate is ₦2,000 only;
  • Please NOTE that all change of course should also be effected on the JAMB Portal;
  • Please note that any error during result upload will be taken as falsification of result and may lead to the disqualification of such candidate.
  • Review your entry carefully before submitting.

APPLICATION STEP BY STEP GUIDE

For Post UTME:
  1. Visit the undergraduate portal (https://uilugportal.unilorin.edu.ng)
  2. On the side navigation, click on the Pre-Admission Screening Registration (but that should be after you've read the instruction)
  3. Fill the displayed fields with the appropriate information (JAMB Registration number, Surname, Email and Phone Number);
  4. Click on the Verify Phone Number button at the bottom of the form
  5. Candidates should click on the Get Details button for your JAMB information which will be displayed;
  6. Choose an alternative course from the displayed courses if not qualified for the course that was displayed on the JAMB portal
  7. Fill in all necessary details as required on the displayed page (e.g. ‘O’ and or ‘A’ level or Awaiting results). Awaiting result should be acceptable for as long as the admission is still in progress.
  8. Click on make payment button to go to Remita platform. You can choose to make the payment using your ATM or generate RRR so you can make the payment in bank
  9. On successful payment, click on pre-admission log in on the left hand side of your screen
  10. Enter the necessary details and click on the Login button
  11. click on next step button to continue, then click OK on message dialog box, after filling all necessary details;
  12. click submit button when you are sure all information have been accurately provided.
For Direct Entry (DE) Candidates:
  1. The procedure above (For Post UTME) also applies to the Direct Entry Candidates.
  2. In addition, Direct Entry candidates are required to select their Highest Academic Qualification(s) from the drop-down and click on Save. On the dialog box click OK when concluded;
  3. To add more Higher Academic Qualifications, click on qualifications drop-down to select as appropriate;
  4. click on save when concluded;

WOW! UNILORIN Graduates 89 First Class Students

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, on Friday reminded the 9,018 graduating students of the university to brace up to the new challenges providence might likely bring their ways.

Abdukareem said this during a convocation lecture preparatory to the 33 Convocation for the 2016/2017 Graduation of the university in Ilorin.
“As you step out of this hall, probably thinking erroneously that the struggle has ended.

“I must caution that the majority of you, especially those of you that have humble background, will begin a life of another struggle.

“But you should not fret, but be prepared to brace up to the new challenges of life.” he advised.

He explained that the university produced 89 First Class graduates, 1,932 Second class Upper Division, 3,727 Second Class Lower Division, 1,309 Third Class, and 117 Pass.

Earlier, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the institution, Dr Abdullahi Oyekan, said the university had good reasons to celebrate in view of its monumental success records.

University of Ilorin, UNILORIN pre-degree / remedial programme admission application form for the 2016/2017 academic session is out.
UNILORIN remedial admisison form
University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has commenced the 2015/2016 admission processes into remedial programme. Interested and qualified candidates are hereby requested to follow the instructions outlined below to apply.

UNILORIN PRE-DEGREE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

1.   Arts Education:
(i)      Applicant Must pass five subjects at credit level at not more than two sittings in SSCE/GCE organized by WEAC, NECO, NABTEB and should include mathematics, English Language and the subject of study.
(ii)      Two of the five subjects must be from Arts while the third may be from the Social Sciences. 
Note:  There is NO Remedial programme in B.A.(Hons.) English   
2.   Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Sciences and Science Education, Technology Education and Educational Technology
Applicants must pass the following subjects at credit level;
English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC, NECO and NABTEB.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME.

Faculty of Agriculture will accept credit grade in Agricultural Science in lieu of credit grade in Biology.

DURATION OF UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME.

The programme is for duration of two semesters (one academic session)

UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY:

The remedial programme is primarily opened to applicants from the catchment areas of the University of Ilorin, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger Plateau, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  • Candidates who want to study Engineering must obtain Credit grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and sit for Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at the 2016/2017 JAMB/UTME.
  • Candidates MUST write the 2016/2017 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject combination to any programme in either Arts or Sciences and MUST obtain the minimum UTME approved cut-off point
NB:  Applicants are to note that the programme is non-residential.

VENUE OF UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME .

The venue of the programme shall be at the School of Preliminary Studies, Fufu, Ilorin South Local Government Headquarters, Kwara State.

UNILORIN REMEDIAL PROGRAMME METHOD OF APPLICATION: 

Candidates are to visit the University of Ilorin website www.unilorin.edu.ng and follow the link for the 2016/2017 SPS Application.  Application forms to be completed online after a payment of N10,000.00 (Ten thousand Naira) only application fee, using interswitch enabled ATM Card either Master or Verve card.  After the completion of the form, each candidate MUST download a Local Government Confirmation Form which MUST be endorsed by the Chairman/Secretary of the Local Government Area.  A candidate who is offered admission will be expected to bring the form and SSCE/GCE certificates/result slips during registration.
Closing date for application is 10th January, 2017.

AGAIN: UNILORIN produces 67 first class graduates

A total of 67 out of 8,038 graduating students of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) will be awarded with first class honours during the institutions 32nd Convocation Ceremony that comes up on Friday and Saturday.
According to the Vice Chanvellor, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali said the graduating students “comprise 1,903 post graduates,6069 under graduates of first degree and 66 diploma graduates.
“Of our 6,069 first degree graduands 67 of them made the first class grade and 1,505 made second class upper division grade. Additionally, we have 3,200 second class lower division,1,124 third Class division and 70 pass.Those who had pass were 82 last year. The MB:BS graduands during the session are 103.”
He also stated that the university has achieved giant strides in the last few years under his watch which has earned it the number one choice for admission seekers.

UNILORIN Pre-Admission Screening Form – 2016/17 for [Post UTME & DE]

University of Ilorin, UNILORIN pre-admission screening (for UTME and Direct Entry) application form for the the 2016/2017 academic session is out .

Authority of the  University of Ilorin invites candidates who applied for admission into the undergraduate degree programmes of the University for the 2016/17 academic session to upload the required information for the Screening Exercise.
UNILORIN screening exercise will hold between 25TH August   and   5th September, 2016.  All results intended for use for 2016 admission must be uploaded not later than 5th September 2016 when the portal shall be closed.

UNILORIN PRE-ADMISSION SCREENING ELIGIBILITY.

A.  UTME Candidates who made the University of Ilorin their first choice and scored:
(i)                a minimum of 180 in the UTME for courses other than those listed in (ii) below and also have five (5) O/L Credits in Mathematics, English Language and other three (3) relevant subjects at not more than two sittings;
(ii)              for MB;BS; Optometry  and Vision Science, Five (5) O/L Credits in Mathematics, English Language and other three (3) relevant subjects at not more than one sitting.
B.   DIRECT ENTRY Candidates who made the University of Ilorin their first choice and have obtained a minimum of:
(i)                Upper Credit at OND/HND where applicable.  However, Statistics, Agriculture, Performing Arts and History and International Studies, may consider lower Credit.  Only Computer Science accepts HND for admission into 200 Level.
(ii)              Merit in two (2) relevant NCE subjects (where applicable);
(iii)            A minimum of 6 points in the two relevant subjects in IJMB, NABTEB, GCE, Cambridge or equivalent;
(iv)           (a) 13 points at A/L in IJMB, NABTEB, GCE or Cambridge of equivalent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology  for MB;BS; or
(b)      Second Class (Upper Division) Honours Degree in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology, Zoology or any other relevant courses in the Life Sciences.

UNILORIN POST UTME REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

  1. Go to UNILORIN Pre-Admission screening registration portal @http://www.uilugportal.unilorin.edu.ng/putme_registration.php,
  2. Type in your JAMB Registration Number and SURNAME in the boxes provided. Carefully type in your JAMB Registration Number as any error committed will not allow your details to be displayed.
Thereafter,
  • UTME candidates should click on the Get Details button for your JAMB information;
  • DE candidates should click OK button on the dialog box displayed and enter your names; and
  • Click on Make Payment link to go to WEBPAY page. Note: UTME Candidates who are qualified for the courses originally chosen can proceed to make payment by supplying the required information. However, UTME Candidates who are not qualified for the course originally chosen are advised to change their course as indicated on the payment page. Note the sum of N2,500 is charged for change of course.
  1. Make Payment
  • Select your ATM card type (e.g Verve or Master Card)
  • Enter your Card Number
  • Enter Card Expiry Date and the card CVV2  (the 3 digits on the reverse side of the card and lastly enter your card pin; and
  • Then click on Pay.
Please note:  (Do not Refresh your browser while the process is going on to avoid multiple deductions from your account. If nothing is displayed after 10 minutes, close the browser and restart again).
  1. After Login, click on Continue Registration Link on the main menu.
  2. Fill in your other bio-data and necessary details truthfully on the webpage. All candidates should upload their Passports by clicking on Browse button and select your picture. Your Passport must not be more than 20KB.
    PASSPORT SPECIFICATION
      • Acceptable format (JPEG)
      • Picture must be digital passport photograph
      • Resolution must be at least 200 DPI
      • Dimension should not be less than 251 × 297 pixels
      • Each photograph should capture head and top of the shoulders so that the faces take up to 70-80% of the photograph.
      • Show the eyes looking directly at the camera
      • Show skin tone naturally
      • Have a uniform red background
      • Maximum of 20kb
    SIGNATURE SPECIFICATION
      • Signature must be clearly scanned
      • Acceptable format (JPEG)
      • Resolution must be at least 200 DPI
      • Dimension should not be less than 134 × 33 pixels
      • Signature should be in black ink and should be on a plain background (no lines)
      • Signature must be clear and bold
      • Maximum of 15kb
  3. On completion of bio-data. click on Next Step button then click OK on the message dialog box.
  4. All Direct Entry (DE) candidates should complete the Institution of choice and click on Save then click OK on the message dialog box.
  5. On completion of choice of Institution click Next Step button.
  6. For Direct Entry (DE)
    • Direct Entry candidates are required to select their Higher Academic Qualification(s) from the drop down and click on Save. On the dialog box click OK;
    • To add more Higher Academic Qualifications click on qualifications drop down to select your additional qualifications click on save; and
    • Click on Next Step.
  1. All candidates (UTME and DE) are required to supply their O’ level (O/L) details as follows:
  • Pick Number of sitting(s) by clicking on the drop-down button
  • Enter all the required O’ level (O/L) details; and
  • Click on Submit button then click OK on the message dialog box.
  • Pre-Admission Screening Registration form;
  • Payment Receipt.
EVERY CANDIDATE SHOULD COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ON-LINE THE REGISTRTION FORM FOR SCREENING ON OR BEFORE 5th SEPTEMBER, 2016.

  1. Candidates awaiting any result should not apply please.
  2. As part of the screening exercise, candidates are expected to follow instructions and accurately enter the required information. False submission of information/results will attract automatic disqualification
