2017 NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle to Career Scholarship Programme

NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle to Career Scholarship Programme
The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), operator of the Production Shoring Contract (PSC) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and it’s other co venturers; ExxonMobil, Total and NAOC, hereby announce the test for a 6-year full board secondary school scholarship in selected secondary schools across Nigeria.
2017 NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle to Career Scholarship Programme
The invited students were selected based-on their performance in the 2017 National Common Entrance Examination conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO). Candidates have been selected from each State based on the criteria below:

Criteria For Award
  • Pupil must be Nigerian and have written the National Common Entrance Examination organized by NECO.
  • Pupil must be indigenes of the State in which they were selected from.
  • Pupil must be in their final class (Primary 6) of a public primary school in Nigeria.
  • Pupil must be physically present to write the test at the designated school in the different locations.
  • Guardian/parents of pupils must sign a consent form confirming the authenticity of documentation provided during the accreditation exercise.
Candidates are expected to be accompanied by their parent/guardian to the examination centres and will be required to come with the following documents:
  • Two recent passport-sized photograph
  • Letter of introduction from primary school attended
  • Letter of identification from the Local Gavernment Area of Origin.
Screening and test for the selected students who SNEPCo shall contact directly will be conducted on the date stated below.

Saturday, 22nd July, 2017.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via SMS. 
  • All NNPc/SNEPCO scholarship applications, examinations and awards are FREE.
  • SNEPCo does not assign representatives/agents to assist in the application process.
  • Screening is continuous and any candidate found to hove presented false documents will be disqualified or withdrawn at any level of the scholarship.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company is opening up a National University Scholarship which aim is to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians.

SHELL UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

Eligible Fields of Study: Petroleum Engineering, Materials/Corrosion Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy Physics/Applied Physics, Agricultural Science, Geophysics, Geosciences/Geology, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics and Medical Laboratory Technology.
About the Award: The NNPC/SNEPCo scholarship is provided to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians. It provides yearly grant to the successful applicants from their second year to the completion of their degree programme. The scholarship is managed by SNEPCo on behalf of itself, its co-venture partners and the NNPC

Eligibility: 
  • Candidates must be citizens of Nigeria.
  • Candidates must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship (National or International).
  • Candidates must currently be in their second year of full-time study in a Nigerian University accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)\
  • Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in a 5-grade system

  • Candidates should have a valid email account for easy communication.
  • Applications are accompanied with the following:
    • A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant in JPEG format, and not more than 200kilobytes;
    • University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission Letter; Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Scores;
    • ‘O’ Level Result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) are applicable.
    • Letter of Identification from State of origin indicating applicant’s local government of origin.
    • Candidates are to upload their 100 level results.
Application Procedure: Interested candidates are advised to adhere strictly to these instructions before and while applying:

NNPC Has Release Winners of  Science Quiz Competition 2016 
NNPC Science Quiz. In a bid to get its activities to impact Nigerians more positively in keeping with its payoff line, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has pledged to retool its channels of engagement with communities to help prepare the younger generation for leadership.
Speaking at the grand finale of the 2016 edition of the NNPC Annual National Quiz Competition which held at the NNPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, said he was immensely proud of the National Quiz Competition project as it has lived up to the objective of generating interest in science and technology among Nigerian youth.
The Minister who was represented by the Group Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services, Mr. Isa Inuwa, said the Corporation would continue to support the National Quiz Competition and other community-based efforts aimed at promoting education and youth development.
“We would thus commit ourselves to executing many more strategic community development projects, particularly those that we reckon would rapidly improve the lives of Nigerians”, he said.
In a goodwill message, the Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, who was represented by the Acting Director, Technology and Science Education, Mrs Tina Eyanru, commended the management of NNPC for initiating and supporting the science quiz competition for the past 15 years.
He said the poor economic condition in sub-Sahara African countries was a result of poor application of science, adding that there was need to change that trajectory by encouraging the development of the transition from science to technology which is what the Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) Competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education was about.
The grand finale of the NNPC Quiz which had the winners from the zonal level of the contest was won by students from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, who clinched the first prize with 135 points.
The other winners are: Akwa Ibom which clinched the second prize with 125 points; Lagos – 110 points; Jigawa – 100 points, Abia – 90 points and Yobe – 70 points.
The contestants who represented the FCT – Master Aniagoh William; Anyacho Sopuruchukwu and Nwokolo David – would enjoy N300, 000 bursary throughout their education up to the first degree level.

You would see the message below on the page you open.
Following your performance at our scholarship selection test conducted on Saturday December 5, 2015, we are pleased to offer you an award of the 2015/2016 NNPC/TOTAL National Merit Scholarship.
Scanned copies of your Award letter and your Acceptance Form have been sent to your email address which you supplied during your application. Please check your email.
The original hard copies of the two documents are being dispatched via courier to you through your Head of Department. Please check with him/her in the coming days to collect them.
Please read the documents thoroughly and conform to all the instructions
Among other instructions, you are required to complete the Acceptance Form and return to us within six (6) weeks from the date of your Award letter. Failure to return the Acceptance Form duly completed and signed within this period voids the offer. Late return is not entertained and we shall not enter into any further correspondence with you.

Ensure that your Head of Department or your Dean of Faculty or your Dean of Student Affairs, whichever is available/accessible to you within this period, completes and signs their portion of the Acceptance Form.

Chevron Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with its Joint Venture partner, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), is offering a number of University Scholarship Awards to suitably qualified Nigerian students.

Requirements / Eligibility
This Scheme Is Open To Unregistered Existing Awardees ONLY. Only current NNPC/Chevron JV scholarship beneficiaries who have not registered on scholastica are required to Register and Apply. Registered existing awardees need not apply but login to update their academic details. 

In line with the NNPC/CHEVRON JV Scholarship Policies, current awardees who wish to be retained on the scheme MUST satisfy the following requirements throughout the duration of their degree programme. 

1. Must be in a Nigerian University
2. Must remain within a course/program covered by the NNPC/CHEVRON JV Scholarship scheme

How to Apply


Registered existing awardees need not apply but refer to the steps outline in the invitation email.
Unregistered existing awardees should apply using the steps below:

1. Before you start this application, ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents.
Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
School ID card
Admission letter
Birth certificate
O' Level result
JAMB Result
2. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
3. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload 


How to Apply for NNPC/CHEVRON Scholarship 2016
‡To apply, visit http://scholastica.ng/schemes/cnlawards2013 and follow the steps below:
1. Click on "Apply Now" tab. 
2. Click on "Register Now" to create an account. 
3. Proceed to your email box to activate your account 
4. Click on www.scholastica.ng to return to Scholarship site 
5. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information. 
6. Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents. 
7. Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise. 
8. Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading. 
9. When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background. 
10. Recheck application information to avoid errors 
11. Click "Apply Now" on your corresponding award year to submit information i.e. 2012 Awardee to click "NNPC/CHEVRON JV / 2011" on www.scholastica.ng
12. You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful.

14. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.

Click "Create Account" and fill in the required fields 
Login with Email and Password to complete the form 
After completion, schedule a date for photo and finger print capture 
Visit any of the 37 capture centres http://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number 
You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office 
16. Return to www.scholastica.ng and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion

This is to inform all those who took part in the NNPC/CHEVRON Scholarship exam held in July 2015 that the result has been released and list of successful candidates posted to different schools.

How To Check List of Successful Candidates in NNPC/Chevron Scholarship 2015.

To check if you are among the successful candidates for the NNPC/Chevron Scholarship Award 2015, kindly visit the office of Dean of Student  of Affairs in your school and request to check your name on the list sent by Chevron.
The list will to be returned to Chevron for final shortlisting after the Course adviser/Departments of the shortlisted candidates have sent their CGPA to the dean.
Candidates whose CGPA do not conform with what they filled in the application risk not being shortlisted in the final list. Also candidates whose CGPA do not reach the specified 3.0 also stand the risk of not being listed for the Award in the final list that will be released any time soon.
All those who took part in the exam are advised to visit their department or the office of the dean of students’ affairs to check their name before the list will be returned to Chevron
