Awesome! DELSU Best Graduating Student Gets Automatic Job

DELSU Best Graduating Student makes news again. The best graduating student of Delta State University (DELSU),  Ossaiugbo Ifeanyi Marcus was on Saturday offered automatic employment  as a lecturer in the institution and an overseas scholarship to  pursue his postgraduate programme.
The vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Victor Peretomode, who  announced this at the school’s 10th convocation in  Abraka, said Ossaiugbo graduated with the cumulative aggregate of 4.68  from the department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Prof. Peretomode assured the institution would bear the full cost of his  overseas post graduate studies.
He said the university would, in compliance with the university’s  vision and mission statement, continue  to provide qualitative education in terms of research and innovations, teaching and learning to its students and the society in general.
Marcus, in his  valedictory speech, said that the day was the most valuable in his  life, that of his family, and of the Department of Mathematics and  Computer Science.
My  journey through this prestigious university began in September 2011. It was with profound joy that I saw my name on the admission list of  the department of Mathematics and Computer Science; because my dream  of becoming a renowned Mathematician  like Prof. Chike Obi, Prof. Emeritus James Okoye Chukuka Ezeilo, Leonhard Euler, Bernhar Riemann and Augustin Lious Cauchy,” he added.
His Meeting with the Governor
He called on fellow students to ponder on the old words of Fred Allen, who described a celebrity as someone who works hard all his life to become well known, but wears dark glasses to avoid being recognised.

DELSU Students Shock Over NUC Accreditation Withdrawer

10:15:00 0

Students of Delta State University , Oleh campus,
are currently worried as the Nigeria University
Commission, NUC, has withdrawn the accreditation of the
institution’s Faculty of Law.

Vanguard reports that part of what makes the students
apprehensive is the fact that the other faculty in the
campus, Faculty of Engineering, lost its accreditation four
years ago. A lot of people now worry that the campus will
soon be shut down.

President of the Law Students Association of Nigeria,
LAWSAN, at the campus, Mr. Desmond Orisewezie has
appealed to the government to work towards bringing back
accreditation for those two faculties.

“ Engineering has lost its accreditation, and now
Law Faculty. If the issue is left like that, it
means that the campus will be closed which will
not be fair, because psychologically, it is going
to have effect on the students.”

A student of the campus, Mr. Oghenemine Djebah expressed his worry and urges the Delta state government to look into it.

Djebah said that the conditions given by the accreditation team of NUC which he said include the provision of
computers for the faculty’s e-library, upgrading of books,
provision of air conditioners for the library, the completion
and furnishing of the lecture and the moot court, could be
achieved with proper commitment from the government
and the cooperation of the school authority.
