Applications are invited for Fairleigh Dickinson University Scholarships to pursue undergraduate degree programme. Both US and international students can apply for these scholarships.
The largest private university in New Jersey, FDU is a not-for-profit, nonsectarian, multicampus institution. Founded in 1942, FDU achieved four-year status in 1948 and approval as a university in 1956.
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit official results from an English proficiency test as part of their application.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing the undergraduate program.

FDU International Scholarship: $1,000 to $15,000
Colonel Fairleigh S. Dickinson Scholarship:The Colonel Fairleigh S. Dickinson Scholarships range from $18,000 to $30,000 annually for a maximum of four years.
Dean’s Scholarship: The Dean’s Scholarships range from $10,000 to $17,500 annually for a maximum of four years.
Provost’s Leadership Award: These annually renewable awards range from $5,000 to $9,500 for a maximum of four years at full-time enrollment while maintaining a 2.70 cumulative grade point average.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Transfer students with an earned associate’s degree who are members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for a $18,000 PTK Scholarship.
Transfer Scholarship: These scholarships range from $5,000 to $14,000 per academic year for a maximum of three years at full-time enrollment status.
Global Housing Grant: $3,000

Eligibility:
Presidential Scholarship:
- Qualifying standardized test score; submit one of the following:
– Old SAT (Critical Reading + Math) = 1300 or higher,
– New SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math) = 1350 or higher,
– ACT = 29 or higher - 5 GPA
- A Presidential Scholarship Application (available in October 2016)
- Personal essay (topic is applicant’s choice) of 400-500 words
FDU International Scholarship:
- Based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need
- SAT/ACT not required
- Renewable up to 4 years
Colonel Fairleigh S. Dickinson Scholarship
- SAT or ACT required (Minimum 23 ACT Composite Score, 1050 Critical Reading + Math (old) SAT or 1130 Evidence-Based Reading/Writing + Math (new) SAT)
- 0 GPA
- Renewable up to 4 years
Dean’s Scholarship: The recommended academic criteria for consideration are 1050 to 1190 SAT on a 1600 scale (or 23-26 ACT), and a GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale). Recipients must remain full-time students while maintaining a minimum 2.85 cumulative GPA.
Provost’s Leadership Award: These annually renewable awards range from $5,000 to $9,500 for a maximum of four years at full-time enrollment while maintaining a 2.70 cumulative grade point average. Provost’s Leadership Awards are based on academic record, leadership abilities, and extracurricular activities.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Candidates must submit a copy of their PTK certificate along with proof of graduation with an associate’s degree from a community college. This scholarship is offered for a maximum of two years. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Transfer Scholarship: All transfer students applying to the University who have completed a minimum of 24 college credits are automatically evaluated for Transfer Scholarships. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Global Housing Grant
- Must live on and attend the Metropolitan campus
- Based on academic merit, financial need and extracurricular involvement
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Renewable up to 2 years
FDU Family Grant
- For families with 2 or more dependent children simultaneously attending FDU
- Maximum of $1,500 will be awarded per person for up to 4 years for undergraduates
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Does not apply to students enrolled in Wroxton College, summer sessions, intersessions, mini sessions, or other special sessions
Children of Alumni Grant
- For dependent children of FDU alumni
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Renewable up to 4 years for undergraduates
- Alumni-Trustee-Faculty Endorsement Grant
Athletic Scholarship
- Recognizes superior athletic ability of students participating in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I
- Only available at the Metropolitan Campus
- Subject to Division I rules and regulations of the NCAA.

Entrance Requirement: An applicant must have graduated from an accredited or government recognized secondary school or have received his or her General Education Development (GED) certificate.

Applicants who do not meet English proficiency requirement may want to consider Conditional Admission through ELS Language Center or FDU’s Pre-University Program (PUP).
- An Application for Undergraduate Admission
- A $40 non-refundable fee (payable to Fairleigh Dickinson University). Note: This fee is waived for students who file an online application.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation.
- Official SAT or ACT standardized test scores.
- Official transcripts from all high schools attended.
- Personal Essay strongly recommended.
- Personal Interview optional.
