Recently, the Punch Newspapers reported:
Music industry heavyweights Olamide and Don Jazzy have
started the New Year by turning on each other, leaving
many in the music industry shocked, the relationship
between both label heads turned sour following a series of
events at the 2015 Headies Awards in Lagos after Marvin
Record starlet, Reekado Banks, beat Olamide’s protégé, Lil
Kesh, to the coveted Next Rated Artist prize.
But, a day later, the duo took to their Instagram pages to
post a similar apology to their disappointed fans.
They both wrote, “We are very sorry for the wahala. Make
una no vex ooo. It is our responsibility to lead but then
again we are only human and we all make mistakes.
#WeAreSorryHeadies #WeAreSorryFans
#PeaceAndUnity #YBNL #SMD #OneLagos
#OneNigeria”
So what can students learn from this?
1. Silence is Golden
This is quote, which most people forget in the heat of
anger, Olamide forgot, Don Jazzy did not. And in the
aftermath, Olamide said a lot of things he regrets and he
had to delete all those tweets later on.
2. Alcohol Intake influences your actions
When Olamide Adedeji, the CEO of YBNL went on stage
with his red cup, we all knew it didnt contain water, and
his behavior subsequently proved that he had gone beyond
his limits. So watch your alcohol intake, alcoholic influence
is a way to lose trust and do things you will regret.
3. Forgive and Move on
Now despite all that went down, both CEOs decided to bury
the hatchet and move on. This is the most vital lesson, we
take away from the fiasco. Mistakes are bound to be made,
learn to forgive, forget and move along with your life.
Holding on to grudges will harm you.
