APPLICATION FOR THE BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA) 2019/2020 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS (UNDERGRADUATE, AND POST GRADUATE DEGREE) IS ONGOING

Application for the Bilateral Agreement — is ongoing and interested candidates can now apply for the scholarship program.
This Scholarship is available for both the undergraduate and post graduate courses.
To proceed with your application, simply read through the eligibility and follow the steps outlined below to proceed.

ELIGIBILITY

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE 
  • Candidate must have a minimum qualification of 5 distinctions (A's and B's) in their SSCE result.
  • Your SSCE certificate must not be more than two years old
  • Age limit is 18 to 20 years
POST GRADUATE DEGREE
  • All applicants must hold a first degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division
  • Age limit is 35 years for a master's degree program and 40 years of age for a PhD program.
  • Evidence of readiness to be released by employer
  • All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. or have an N.Y.S.C discharge certificate.
  • Applicants who are previous recipients of foreign award must have completed at least two years post qualification of employment in Nigeria.
Candidates are to note that they will be required to spend an additional year to learn the official language of the country of their choice, since the BEA countries are not English speaking countries.

HOW TO APPLY ONLINE

To make your application, you are required to fill a form online via the link provided below and update their information based on the steps/guidelines given below.
  • Visit http://www.education.gov.ng/fsb/portal-bea-scholarships/index.php
  • In the registration form you will find at the right hand side of the page, input your email, create a password and click on the create button
  • Once you've done that, you will be taken to the scholarship application page where you can now apply.
  • In the first section of the application you are required to fill in the following fields
    • Full Name
    • Email Address
    • Mobile Number
    • Gender
    • Marital Status
    • State of Origin and Local Government Area
    • Place and Date of Birth
    • Current and Permanent Address
  • In the second section of the application, you will be required to fill in the following input fields
    • Application Category (Undergraduate, Masters or PhD)
    • Intended Field of Study
    • Two Alternate Fields of Study (optional)
    • Preferred Country of Choice
    • Alternative Country
    • Title of Proposed Research (for PG only)
    • Describe your intended plan of study and the kind of job you plan to seek on return to Nigeria in not less than 500 words (for PG only)
    • State whether or not you are under a kind of commitment which might prevent you from accepting the award
  • In the third section of the application (Parent/Next of kin), you will be required to provide the following details.
    • Father and Mother's Names
    • Father and Mother's Individual Occupation
    • Parents' Email Address
    • Parents' Mobile Number
    • Parents' Address
    • Guardian's Name (Option)
    • Guardian's Occupation
    • Guardian's Email
    • Guardian's Mobile Phone Number

  • In the fourth section of the application, you will be required to update the following
    • Schools Attended with date
    • Tertiary Education (for PG only)
    • O'Level Exam Year
    • Fill In The Details Of Your O'Level Result (Subject and Grade)
    • Certificates Obtained in descending order (for PG only)
  • This section is for PG Only (Record of Employment)
    • Name and Address of Employer
    • Period of Employment
    • Position Held/Salary Received
  • The Sixth section of the scholarship application is the Referee section (for PG only)
    • Name of Referee
    • Address of Referee
    • Position of Referee
  • The Seventh section is for the files/documents upload. You are required to upload the following documents
    • Passport photograph
    • Signature
    • O'Level result
    • Transcript/Result (SS1,SS2,SS3, for UG only)
    • First Degree Certificate (for PG only)
    • First Degree Certificate (First Degree)
    • Masters Certificate(PG only)
    • Transcript (First Degree)
    • Transcript (Masters)
    • Research Proposal (PhD)

  • After you must have completed the other stages of the registration you will then be required to submit. On this page, you will need to select a center of choice for the CBT - Computer Based Test and Click on the Submit Button
Note: 
It is safe for you to save every section before moving on to the next section of the application. This is done to prevent memory loss due to power failure or in cases where you will be required to provide content for a section which at the moment is either not present or available.

The Federal Ministry of Education is inviting applications from qualified candidates for Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA)  Awards for Nigerians to study abroad. This Scholarship is available to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate program.

This scholarship is aimed at educating and fostering the development of all Nigerian citizens in the promotion of a strong democratic and indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation under.

The scholarship is open to all undergraduate and post graduate courses. The scholarship is awarded for the following fields of study.

ELIGIBILITY


Candidates are eligible if they meet up to the following expectation.
  • UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP: 
All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (A's & B's) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate, WAEC only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2014 & 2015). Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.

  • POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP:
All applicants must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for PhD.

NOTE
The countries hosting the BEA scholarship are not English speaking countries and as such applicants should be prepared to spend a mandatory one year to learn the language of the country of choice.

Nigerians are eligible for this scholarship.



HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP

All eligible applicants are to report for interview at the venues scheduled for their respective Zones of origin for proper identification. Two sets of the Printed Completed application forms are usually submitted at the various interview centers with the following attachments:

  • Two sets of Photocopies of Educational Certificates and Testimonials of previous schools attended with the originals for sighting;
  • One certificate is accepted i.e WAEC of May/June only; • Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC and forwarded to the Director/Secretary, Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja;
  • Two copies of Birth certificate
  • State of Origin/LGA certificate duly signed, stamped and dated;
  • Four (4) passport sized coloured photographs on white background;
  • Academic transcripts and NYSC certificates will be required from applicants for Postgraduate Studies. 
    • NB: Candidates nominated and finally selected by the awarding BEA countries will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:
  • Photocopies of Authenticated academic certificates;
  • Data page of current International passport, and
  • Specified Medical Reports & Police clearance certificate.
