Only applicants studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences and Agricultural Science are eligible for the National Merit Award.

NOTE: The aptitude test will take place at designated centres to be communicated to applicants at a later date and applicants are to fully bear the cost of transportation to and from Aptitude test centres.

To apply, follow the steps below:

1.    Click on “Apply Now” tab.
2.    Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
3.    Proceed to your email box to activate your account
4.    Click on www.scholastica.ng/schemes/naocscholarships to return to Scholarship site
5.    Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
6.    Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents.
7.    Ensure the name used in application matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
8.    Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading.
9.    When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background.
10.  Recheck application information to avoid errors
11.  Click “Apply Now” to submit information
12.  You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful.
13.  Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
14.  Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15.  If National Identification Number (NIN) number was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)

    • Visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number
    • Click “Create Account” and fill in the required  fields
    • Login with Email and Password to complete the form
    • After completion, schedule a date for photo and finger print capture
    • Visit any of the capture centres https://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres  to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number
    • You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office
16. Return to www.scholastica.ng/schemes/naocscholarships and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that your essay score met our benchmark and you have been shortlisted for the next phase of screening.
In order to facilitate the screening process, you will need to open a Diamond Yello Account (DYA) if you do not already have one.
To open a Diamond Y’ello Account:
  • You need an active MTN line that is registered in your name.
  • Dial *710# and follow the prompts
It is important that the account is opened in your own name (the name used to register your MTN line).

Things You Must Know About MTN Foundation Scholarship Exam

Approximately 37,800 students applied last year and it is estimated that the number will double this year

1. The exam is organized by JAMB and comprise of the following sections: One Comprehension Passage with 5 questions, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, and of course Information Technology Questions plus Current affairs/General Knowledge.
2. The Exam will last for Two hours. After which you will receive a transport stipend of N2,500, this might increase this year.
3. About 500 students will be Shortlisted as winners but the coordinators are deliberating on increasing the number so anything can happen this time.
4.  3 weeks after the exam and the award ceremony will hold in Owerri (Precisely FUTO or Poly Nekede all in Imo State) and in Lagos. Each winner is given a certificate of Scholarship award from MTN
4. Each winner receives alert of N200,000  in 3 weeks time in the bank account they submit on the award day.But for this year, MTN is partnering with Diamond Bank for the Diamond Yellow Account which is now the new method of disbursing the cash.
5. Old Awardees who are still on ground as regards their CGPA will also be invited for renewal of Award. This implies that you can have the scholarship until you graduate as long as your CGPA does not fall below 3.5 or 2nd class upper as well as their equivalents for Poly students.

About Scholarship: The University of Sheffield offers the Merit Postgraduate Scholarships to international students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate taught master’s programme at the University in September.
Each scholarship is worth 50% tuition fee discount of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Selection Criteria and Eligibility: The Masters Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

To be eligible for the Merit Postgraduate Scholarships:
  • Applicants must have applied for and been offered a study place at the University of Sheffield to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Applicants must apply for a study place by Friday 15 June 2018. for entry in September 2018 to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship application is a separate online process to applying for a course. A link to the online scholarship application will be sent by email to all eligible students from February onwards.
  • The scholarship will be awarded on the the basis of academic merit and the supporting statement. The final decision will be made by an academic panel.
  • The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with other University of Sheffield scholarships as long as the individual does not become fully funded, for tuition fee purposes, as a result of the sum of these awards.
  • The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
  • You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded where partial funding is applicable from an external body* and there is an agreement already in place between the external body and the University of Sheffield to offer a tuition fee discount to the student.
  • The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarships.
  • Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split pro rata over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.
  • These scholarships exclude postgraduate courses in Clinical Dentistry.
  • Overseas students registered on partnership programmes will only be eligible for a proportionate amount of scholarship reflecting the percentage of the programme studied at and percentage of the tuition fees paid to the University of Sheffield. E.g. studying a 50:50 course with the University of Sheffield and another institution where the fees paid to the University of Sheffield are £8000, a scholarship will be applied which represents 50% of the full scholarship amount.

Fully Funded Commonwealth Scholarships 2018/ 2019 in UK
Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are for candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master’s study at a UK university.
Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. These scholarships are offered under six themes:

  2. Strengthening health systems and capacity
  3. Promoting global prosperity
  4. Strengthening global peace, security and governance
  5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises
  6. Access, inclusion and opportunity
The CSC aims to identify talented individuals who have the potential to make change. Selection process
Each year, the CSC invites selected nominating bodies to submit a specific number of nominations. The deadline for nominating bodies to submit nominations to the CSC is 22 March 2018.

The CSC invites around three times more nominations than scholarships available – therefore, nominated candidates are not guaranteed to be awarded a scholarship. There are no quotas for scholarships for any individual country. Candidates nominated by national nominating agencies are in competition with those nominated by other nominating bodies, and the same standards will be applied to applications made through either channel.

  • Academic merit of the candidate
  • Quality of the plan of study
  • Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country

The panel will be considering your scholarship application TOGETHER with your online application for admission.  Please note that complete application for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the Department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year.  You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods.

STEP 2:  Apply for the scholarship
You must apply for this scholarship via the on-line Felix Non-Indian Scholarship application form available here. Please submit no later than 17:00 (UK local time) on 29 January 2018.

Award Provider: The donor for the Felix Scholarship wishes to remain anonymous.  The administration of the Scholarship is conducted by the three partner universities (SOAS University of London, University of Oxford and University of Reading), with the support of the Felix Trustees and their agents in London.
Important Notes: Successful candidates will be notified by end of June.  If you have not heard from us by the end of June, you should assume that your application was unsuccessful
