1. Before you start this application, ensure you have clearly scanned copies of the following documents

- Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)

- Proof of Local Government Area of Origin
- Letter from Community Paramount Ruler
- Letter from CDC Chairman
- JAMB Result

2. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
3. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload
4. Ensure to provide valid Email and Phone Contact for effective communication

To apply, follow the steps below:

1.    Click on “Apply Now” tab.
2.    Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
3.    Proceed to your email box to activate your account
4.    Click on www.scholastica.ng/schemes/naocscholarships to return to Scholarship site
5.    Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
6.    Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents.
7.    Ensure the name used in application matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
8.    Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading.
9.    When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background.
10. Recheck application information to avoid errors
11. Click “Apply Now” to submit information
12. You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful.
13. Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
14. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15.  If National Identification Number (NIN) number was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)

- Visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number
- Click “Create Account” and fill in the required fields
- Login with Email and Password to complete the form
- After completion, schedule a date for photo and finger print capture
- Visit any of the capture centres https://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number
- You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office

16. Return to www.scholastica.ng/schemes/naocscholarships and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion

Things You Must Know About MTN Foundation Scholarship Exam

Approximately 37,800 students applied last year and it is estimated that the number will double this year

1. The exam is organized by JAMB and comprise of the following sections: One Comprehension Passage with 5 questions, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, and of course Information Technology Questions plus Current affairs/General Knowledge.
2. The Exam will last for Two hours. After which you will receive a transport stipend of N2,500, this might increase this year.
3. About 500 students will be Shortlisted as winners but the coordinators are deliberating on increasing the number so anything can happen this time.
4. 3 weeks after the exam and the award ceremony will hold in Owerri (Precisely FUTO‘ or Poly Nekede all in Imo State) and in Lagos. Each winner is given a certificate of Scholarship award from MTN
4. Each winner receives alert of N200,000 in 3 weeks time in the bank account they submit on the award day.But for this year, MTN is partnering with Diamond Bank for the Diamond Yellow Account which is now the new method of disbursing the cash.
5. Old Awardees who are still on ground as regards their CGPA will also be invited for renewal of Award. This implies that you can have the scholarship until you graduate as long as your CGPA does not fall below 3.5 or 2nd class upper as well as their equivalents for Poly students.

The commission will not enter into any form of communication with candidates who were not shortlisted for the computer based test (cbt) or those who were not invited for oral interview or candidates that were not successful at the oral interviews.
Preference would be given to candidates from oil producing/bearing communities/local government areas as long as candidates meet the approved cut off mark.
The commission will ensure a fair spread of courses among beneficiaries within each state.
Deferment, change of institution and course are not permitted.
The commission reserves the sole and absolute discretion to select applicants in line with the above stated criteria and its internal consideration. The decision of the commission in this regard is final.

About Scholarship: The University of Sheffield offers the Merit Postgraduate Scholarships to international students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate taught master’s programme at the University in September.
Each scholarship is worth 50% tuition fee discount of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Selection Criteria and Eligibility: The Masters Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

To be eligible for the Merit Postgraduate Scholarships:

Applicants must have applied for and been offered a study place at the University of Sheffield to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Applicants must apply for a study place by Friday 15 June 2018. for entry in September 2018 to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship application is a separate online process to applying for a course. A link to the online scholarship application will be sent by email to all eligible students from February onwards.
The scholarship will be awarded on the the basis of academic merit and the supporting statement. The final decision will be made by an academic panel.
The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with other University of Sheffield scholarships as long as the individual does not become fully funded, for tuition fee purposes, as a result of the sum of these awards.
The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
The scholarship will not be awarded where partial funding is applicable from an external body* and there is an agreement already in place between the external body and the University of Sheffield to offer a tuition fee discount to the student.
The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarships.
Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split pro rata over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.
These scholarships exclude postgraduate courses in Clinical Dentistry.
Overseas students registered on partnership programmes will only be eligible for a proportionate amount of scholarship reflecting the percentage of the programme studied at and percentage of the tuition fees paid to the University of Sheffield. E.g. studying a 50:50 course with the University of Sheffield and another institution where the fees paid to the University of Sheffield are £8000, a scholarship will be applied which represents 50% of the full scholarship amount.

Fully Funded Commonwealth Scholarships 2018/ 2019 in UK
Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are for candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master’s study at a UK university.
Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. These scholarships are offered under six themes:

Science and technology for development
Strengthening health systems and capacity
Promoting global prosperity
Strengthening global peace, security and governance
Strengthening resilience and response to crises
Access, inclusion and opportunity

The CSC aims to identify talented individuals who have the potential to make change. Selection process
Each year, the CSC invites selected nominating bodies to submit a specific number of nominations. The deadline for nominating bodies to submit nominations to the CSC is 22 March 2018.

The CSC invites around three times more nominations than scholarships available – therefore, nominated candidates are not guaranteed to be awarded a scholarship. There are no quotas for scholarships for any individual country. Candidates nominated by national nominating agencies are in competition with those nominated by other nominating bodies, and the same standards will be applied to applications made through either channel.

Quality of the plan of study
Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country

The Japanese Government will provide scholarship for Teachers Training Students in the Academic year beginning in October 2017

The Embassy of Japan is pleased to inform you that the Government of Japan will provide scholarship for Nigerian Primary/Secondary school teachers who desire. to take teacher training course and Japanese language training in Japan.
Requirements: The scholarship is open to graduates of universities and teachers training colleges no more than thirty-four (34) years of age (must be born on or after April 2, 1982), who have worked as teachers at primary/ secondary schools or teacher training college for at least five years in their home countries at the time of application.

The Embassy will like to use this opportunity to attract Nigerian Schools that wish to start Japanese Language class or course at their school. Beneficiaries shall upon their return, help to promote Japanese Language education in Nigeria.

Scholarship Worth:
Allowance：

143,000 yen per month. (In case that the recipient researches in a designated region, 2,000 or 3,000 yen per month will be added. The monetary amount each year may be subject to change due to budgetary reasons.)

Transportation to Japan：
The recipient will be provided an economy-class airplane ticket, according to his/her itinerary and route as designated by MEXT,from the international airport nearest to his/her home country residence,where in principle is in the country of nationality, to the Narita International Airport or any. other international airport that the appointed university usually uses when they enter to Japan.
Expenses such as inland transportation from his/her home address to the international airport, airport tax, airport usage fees, special taxes on travel, or inland transportation within Japan including a connecting flight will NOT be covered. (*Although the address in the home country stated in the application form is in principle regarded as the recipient’s “home country residence,” if it will be changed at the time of leaving from his/her home country the changed address will be regarded as “home country residence.”)
Tuition and Other Fees：Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at universities will be paid by the Japanese Government.

The 2017 DStv Eutelsat Star Awards competition is back with a bang after scooping a Better Satellite Award at the third annual Better Satellite World Awards gala dinner in London last night. The awards honour established companies along with disruptive innovators who make the world a more prosperous, healthier, better-educated, sustainable and inclusive home for humankind. Drawing on six years of success across the continent, the DStv Eutelsat Star Awards is returning for a 7^th edition. Students from secondary (high) or combined schools can enter from today by writing a creative essay or designing a poster based on the following topic: “It’s sixty years since the first satellite, Sputnik, was launched, broadcasting a unique and easily captured ‘beep, beep, beep’ signal. Looking back at this historic moment, write an essay or design a poster depicting how satellites have launched humankind into the 21^st Century and acted as a unifier.”

Reach for the stars
The prizes of this innovative competition are as big as the dreams of a young, energised African generation ready to shape the evolution of our continent. Selected from thousands of entries by a high-standard jury, the essay winner will be eligible for a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two to Paris, France in the company of Eutelsat, and onwards to French Guiana to see a rocket launch into space. The poster winner will win a trip for two to South Africa which includes a visit to the South African National Space Agency as well as exploration of several heritage sites as guests of MultiChoice Africa. The schools attended by the two winners will also receive a DStv installation, including a dish, TV, decoder and free access to the DStv Education Package.

Open to learners with a passion for technology
The DStv Eutelsat Star Awardsare open to all learners from secondary (high) or combined schools on the continent where MultiChoice Africa maintains operations. Entry forms can be obtained from any MultiChoice Resource Centre, the nearest MultiChoice office or via www.dstvstarawards.com. Entries are accepted in English, French and Portuguese and will be judged on the basis of high-standard criteria of accuracy, creativity, originality and innovation. For the first time this year students are also invited to engage with the Awards community through a dedicated Facebook page.
The competition closes on 12 February 2018. Only entries submitted on the official entry form will be eligible. The overall winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in March 2018.

Thanks to the generosity of the Felix Scholarship Trust, one Felix Scholarship will be available to a national from a developing country with a first class undergraduate degree to pursue a Taught Masters programme for entry in September 2018.

About the Award: This scholarship is aimed primarily at candidates who are nationals of Sub-Saharan African countries living in their country of origin.

Part-time programmes are not eligible.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be nationals of a developing country and not currently be living or studying outside of their country. This scholarship is aimed primarily at candidates who are nationals of a Sub-Saharan African Country living in their Sub-Saharan African country of origin.
Candidates must not have previously studied for one year or more outside of their country.
Candidates must have a first class Bachelor’s degree from a University or comparable institution.
Candidates who already hold a Master’s degree cannot apply for a Master’s degree scholarship.
Candidates must demonstrate financial need.
Graduates are expected to return to work in their home country.
Candidates must have submitted a complete application for admission by the scholarship closing date of 29th January 2018.
Candidates must have an offer of admission by the time shortlisting takes place in early March 2017.
Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2018. If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.

Selection:

Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by an Advisory Panel, consisting of three academic members. Financial need is also relevant.
The assessment of your application will be based on the information provided in your scholarship application and in your on-line admission application for admission. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statement and other relevant information.
Only those who have been accepted for admission will be considered for short listing by the SOAS Selection Panel. Shortlisting at SOAS will take place in March 2018

Value of Scholarship: The Felix scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees; living costs (£15,560 in 2017-18) and a return air fare. This Masters scholarship is shared with International Students House, which provides free accommodation and breakfast. The accommodation cost will be deducted from the living cost of £15,560.
