 The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), with its mandate of transforming Nigeria into an IT driven economy for global competitiveness and the dire need to bridge the digital divide, has since 2010established a Scholarship Scheme for Masters (M.Sc) and Doctorate (Ph.D) Degrees in relevant areas of Information Technology (IT) obtainable in Nigerian (Government and Private) Universities.

About the Company.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was formed for the purpose of implementing the Nigerian IT Policy and coordinating IT development within the country.
NITDA is responsible for the development of IT in Nigeria through regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. It is also the clearing house for infrastructure development and IT projects in Nigeria.

About the Scholarship.

The NITDA Scholarship Scheme was initiated in 2010 and each year 2 scholarships are awarded – the Masters and Doctorate scholarships. These scholarships are intended for students who wish to study within the IT industry at a Nigerian University (Private or Government).
The Masters (MSc) programme will take place over the course of 12 months, whereas the Doctorate (PhD) programme will take place over the course of 3 years.
FIELDS OF STUDY COVERED – Information Technology (IT).

Eligibility.

Please ensure that you meet these minimum entry criteria before applying:

• Nigerian citizen
• Excellent academic record
• PhD students: University lecturer with a MSc qualification in Information Technology or a related field of study
• MSc students: Completed a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours BSc Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field of study
• Willing to study at a state, federal or private University in Nigeria

Candidates will be required to undergo an Aptitude Test before the scholarship is awarded – students who pass the Aptitude Test will be shortlisted.
