Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA Entrance Examination cards printing for 68 Regular Course has stopped. Beware of fraudsters.

This is to alert the general public, especially the candidates for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Entrance Examination for 68 Regular Course, of the existence of a fraudulent web site purportedly owned by the Academy.
In that website, candidates who were yet to print their examination cards or enter their examination centres on the NDA application portal were requested to pay certain amount of money into a named bank to facilitate the printing and entry respectively.
However, it is hereby stated for avoidance of doubt that the NDA application portal had since closed, which implies that it is no longer possible to carry out any activity on the site.
Consequently, any person dealing with the fraudster i n the name of NDA does so at his or her own risk.

Nigerian Defence Academy 68th regular course admission application form will be available for sale from 26 January to 15th March 2016., and it is open to both male and female Nigerians.

NDA 68th Regular Course Admission Requirements.

The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website / applications portal, as well as in the JAMB Brochure and website. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website / applications portal.
1. To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, a candidate must have the following:
  • Minimum of 5 Credit passes at SSCE (WAEC or NECO or NABTEB) or GCE O/L obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.
  •  Credit in English Language and Mathematics.
  • At least one supporting relevant credit to the compulsory credits in faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.
  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old at the time of entry into the Academy. Note that Nigerian Airforce candidates must be between 17 and 18years old at entry.
  • Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.50 metres for female.
  • Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
  • Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
  • Present a Certificate of Origin obtained from a Local Government Area and a Certificate of State indigene ship from the Office of the State Governor is desirable.
2. Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:
  • Awaiting results are not qualified. Results not submitted with the application for will not be accepted.
  • Only examination results of 5 years from date will be accepted.
  • Currently, admission into the academy is for both male and female Nigerians only.

NDA 68th Regular Course Method of Application.

Candidates should logon to the application portal www.ndaapplications.net. select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in their details to pay for their application via REMITA after first obtaining their ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code in the sum of N3,000.00 only. Please note that only payment against RRR Codes generated via the application portal would be accepted.
Interested candidates are advised to go online and complete the application on the websites indicated above. Please download and read carefully, the Instructions provided on the website. Applicants applying for admission into NDA MUST also apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), but may not necessarily select NDA as their choice of university. Such applicants are expected to sit for the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications should be submitted online. On completion of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form. Upon release of the JAMB results, candidates should return to the applications portal and download their Examination Admission Card. Only candidates who make the JAMB national cut-off mark will be allowed to participate in the NDA Entrance Examination.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website/applications portal. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website / applications portal.

EXAMINATION CONDITIONS
Only candidates who meet the JAMB national cutoff mark will be eligible to sit for the NDA Entrance Examination at their Examination Centre of choice.
The examination will be conducted as an Entrance Examination (similar to Post-UTME examination in conventional universities), and is scheduled to hold on Saturday 23 April 2016. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date. The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back. Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.
NATURE AND DURATION OF TRAINING
Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA). They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
ADMINISTRATION
Regular Course cadets will train in NDA. All aspects of the cadets’ administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.
REFERENCE MATERIALS
In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at a token fee to interested candidates. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA.

NDA Postgraduate Programmes Admission Requirements – Full Time Basis.

The requirements for the various programmes are as follows:
Master’s (MA, MEng and MSc) Degrees.
A candidate seeking admission into the Master’s Degree programme shall be a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognized university. Such candidate must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the relevant field of study.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree.
A candidate for PhD Degree must possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) at Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study from a recognized university. In addition, the candidate must have scored an average of not less than 60% or 3.50 at the Master’s level.

NDA Postgraduate Programmes Admission Requirements – Part Time Basis.

The requirements for the various programmes are as follows:
Master’s Degree.
Candidates applying for the professional Masters programmes must possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Candidates with Third Class degree or Higher National Diploma must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from any recognised university to be eligible for admission. HND candidates must possess a minimum of Lower Credit to apply.
PGD Programmes.
Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma programme must possess a Bachelor degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognised university, or a Higher National Diploma.

Duration of NDA Full-Time Postgraduate Programmes.

Each student admitted for Master’s or PhD Degree shall pursue a FULL-TIME course of study and research in the Academy. Depending on the degree in view, the following conditions are also applicable:
  • A student for the Master’s degree shall pursue the programme for 2 years (4 Semesters).
  • Candidates for PhD degree shall pursue the programme for 3 years (6 Semesters).
At the expiration of the period of study for any given programme, a student who has not completed his/her programme shall be withdrawn from the Academy. However, in exceptional circumstances, application for extension to complete the programme may be entertained. Extension shall not exceed a period of one year (2 Semesters) in case of Master’s degree and 2 years (4 semesters) in case of PhD.
A student of Postgraduate Diploma shall pursue a full-time programme for 2 years (4 semesters) and maximum period of 3 years (6 semesters).

Duration of NDA PArt-Time Postgraduate Programmes.

Each admitted student for professional master’s degree programme shall pursue weekend mode of study and research on Fridays and Saturdays for the period of the study. The following conditions are also applicable:
A student of Master degree shall pursue the programme for 18 months (2 semesters course work and 1 semester for project) except MBA programme which runs for 2 years.
A student of Postgraduate Diploma shall pursue the programme for one year (2 semesters).

Candidates who still wish to apply to the NDA Post Graduate School can do so by purchasing the Application Form directly from the school for N7,500.00 only. Forms would be available for sale from 9.00am to 3.00pm workdays until 31 December, 2015.

1. The candidates whose names appear in this publication were successful at the Nigerian Defence Academy Entrance Examination held on Saturday 25 April 2015. 3. All candidates will firstly undergo a screening exercise which involves certificates/credentials screening, medical tests and physical fitness tests. Only candidates who pass the screening exercise will qualify to continue with the interview.
4. Candidates MUST bring along the original and photocopies of the following documents:
  1. JAMB UTME Result Slip.
  2. Acknowledgement Form and NDA Examination Admission Card.
  3. Academic certificates I statements ofresult, and testimonials for primary and secondary schools (junior and senior).
  4. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, preferably Birth Certificate.
  1. Letter of Attestation of State/Local Government Indigeneship duly signed by the Secretary to the State Government or Chairman of Local Government, as the case may be. Certification obtained from a military officer from the candidateW”state of origin, who must be of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and above or equivalent in the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force, may be used in place of Local Government Indigeneship Certificate. In this case, the officer must indicate his formation/unit, appointment, contact address, phone numbers and e-mail address. The officer must also affix formation/unit stamp and sign.
  2. Letter of Consent from parent/guardian.

Candidates are to download both the Attestation and Consent Forms from the NDA applications portal and complete same. Candidates who fail to bring along the documents listed above will be disqualified. Any alterations on the documents will attract outright disqualification.
5. Candidates are to also bring along the following items:
  1. Writing materials.
  2. Three blue shorts and 3 white (round-neck) T-shirts.
  3. A pair of white canvas shoes and 3 pairs of white socks.
  4. Toiletries.
  5. Scratch cards for W AEC and/ or NECO results for online confirmation of result.
  6. Four recent coloured passport photographs.
  7. The second copy of Postcard Photograph that was presented and endorsed at the Exam Centre during the Entrance Examination.
  8. Sufficient money for transport to and from Kaduna.
