FUTA Graduates 4332, Honours Ekwueme, Emir of Bauchi

A total of 2,675 Undergraduate and 1,657 Post Graduate students will bag various degrees during the 27th Convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA whose grand finale comes up on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Out of the lot 28 earned first class degrees, 807 got second class (Upper Division), while 1,324 finished in the lower division of second class. 409 graduated with third class and 47 bagged with pass.
Obakpolor, Osakpolor Eki of the Department of Physics emerged the Best Graduating Student with a cumulative GPA of 4.84.
Disclosing this at a briefing to herald the commencement of the event ,the Chairman, Ceremonials Committee, Professor James Olaniyi Okunlola said during the ceremony ,FUTA will bestow its Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Management Technology on the duo of Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukuwu Ekwueme, GCON, former Vice-President of the Federation and His Royal Highness, Dr. Rilwan Suleiman Adamu, CFR, FNIOB, Emir of Bauchi and Chancellor designate of the University for their immense contributions to the development of Education and the country as a whole.
He said on Friday November 20, the former head of service of the Federation Professor Dapo Afolabi , will deliver the 2015 Convocation Lecture title ‘ Repositioning Nigeria University System to Defeat the Challenges of Today and Winning in the Twenty Second Century”
Speaking on technological breakthroughs in the University, Okunlola said under the watch of the Vice Chancellor Professor Adebiyi Daramola, the University’s Centre for Renewable Energy Technology (CRET) is on a mission to tackle power shortage and outage particularly through its recent effort in the construction of a zero-net building which is to supply its own power through alternate source as it will not be connected to the national grid.
He said the University won the last edition of the National Innovations Exhibition organized by the Federal Ministry of Education.
He said staff and students continue to excel in various fields, researches and competitions at both local and international levels thereby further giving fillip to its position as the country’s leading University of Technology. Professor Olaniyi said two major project, the 1,000 Seater Capacity Lecture Theatre and the School of Sciences Phase III will be commissioned during the course of the convocation.

FUTA Fresh Students Registration Guidelines – 2015/16

Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA fresh students registration guidelines for the 2015/2016 academic session.
FUTA Freshers Registration
This is to inform all the fresh students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) that the management of the institution has released the procedure they have to follow to register for the 2015/2016 academic session.
Before you proceed, kindly check: FUTA School Fees Schedule – 2015/16.

FUTA Freshers Registration Procedure.

I.          For a fresh candidate that has no account, click on “Create an account” link
II.         Enter your UTME registration number to verify that you have paid and confirmed your        acceptance fee.  For those who have not confirmed their acceptance fees, click “confirm            payment link.
III.       If verification in (ii) above is successful, you will be taken to account creation page to create your             account.
IV.       Fill the account creation form appropriately and submit.  Your login credentials will be sent to          your phone and email address immediately.  You will then be directed to the login page to            continue your registration. 
NB:  Use your personal phone number and email address, as these will be the channel of communicating    to you throughout your stay in the University.
V.        Login with your username and password to start your registration.
VI.       The Data forms are grouped into five (5) sections.  Please fill carefully and appropriately.
VII.      Download court affidavit and medical form under the download menu.  Fill the court affidavit        form appropriately, and get it signed and stamped in court as it will be part of document to be       uploaded.
VIII.     Important documents (scanned in JPEG image format) needed for upload to complete your registration are:  birth certificate, certificate of origin, court affidavit, attestation letter, JAMB      admission letter (optional), passport and O’ Level result(s).  Direct entry candidates in addition, are required to upload their ND/NCE/IJMB/JUPEB/A ‘Level result.
NB:  Candidates with no JAMB admission letter should report to the University admission office     on resumption.
IX.       After completing the registration, please carefully go through the forms again before you click on             “Finalise submission”.
X         Click on “Finalise submission” to complete and submit your registration.  A preview or report          page will be displayed.
XI.       Print the preview page and check the screening remark below the print out.
XII.      Students who passed the screening can proceed to the bank for school fees payment.
XIII.     e-tranzact receipt for school fees payment obtained from the bank will be used for school fees             payment verification and course registration on the portal.

Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA student wins Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors national Essay Competition.

Opeoluwa Akinradewo, a 500 level student in the Department of Quantity Surveying Federal University of Technology, Akure has clinched the first prize in a national Students Essay Competition organized by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors during her 2nd Research Conference (NIQS RECon2) recently hosted by the University.
Akinradewo came first among students of higher institutions across the country who participated in the Essay Competition titled ‘’Emerging Development in the Nigerian Construction Industry: The Roles of Quantity Surveyors’’. The award attracted a plaque and a Certificate of Excellence.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, has congratulated Master Akinradewo describing him as a worthy ambassador of the University and an exemplification of the quality and excellence of FUTA’s products.

Candidates who scored a minimum of 180 marks in the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), are eligible irrespective of their most preferred choice Institutions.

ii. Complete and submit the University Post-UTME Application Form online; and
iii. Print out a copy.

      b)  An additional fee of N2,000.00 for download of FUTA Post-UTME past questions.
v)       Obtain the eTranzact Payment Receipt after payment.
