Each year Chinese Government offers full and partial scholarship for international students (non-Chinese citizens). This scholarship supports the following 7 programs: undergraduate programs, masters programs, doctoral programs, general scholar programs and senior scholar programs. All the undergraduate programs, most graduate programs and most non-degree programs are instructed in Chinese. Applicants should apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries between January and early April.

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must:
-be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China and be in good health;
-be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;
-be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
-be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
-be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study when applying for general scholar programs;
-be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.
Scholarship Open for International Students: International students (non-Chinese citizens) can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: Chinese Government Scholarship—Bilateral Program includes a full or partial scholarship established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or MOUs between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations.

-Master program: up to 2—3 years
-Doctoral program: up to 3—4 years
-General scholar program: up to 1 year

Notification: CSC reviews the placement results, approves the List of Scholarship Winners and sends the admission documents to diplomatic missions before July 31st.
How to Apply: -Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in your home country for CGS opportunity. It is your own responsibility to consult the dispatching authorities for details and requirements of Bilateral Program in your country and make sure you are eligible for the scholarship.
-Apply to your target university for Pre-admission Letter once recommended by the dispatching authorities as an eligible candidate (you will receive an Award Letter for CGS Candidate).
-Complete the online application procedure at CSC Online Application System for International Students, submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship and print a hard copy.
-Submit all your application documents to the dispatching authorities in your home country before the deadline.
Scholarship Application Deadline: Applicants should apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries between January and early April.
